Keep the part that mattered.
You watched forty minutes for ninety seconds of it. Mark where that stretch starts and where it ends, and Pinpoint keeps it — a title, the points made, and a card you can send to someone. The rest of the video goes where it belongs.
Free to start. No card, no account needed for your first pins.
How exponential backoff actually works
A summary of the whole video is not what you wanted.
Whole-video summaries flatten everything to the same level. The part you cared about — the two minutes where someone finally explained the thing — comes back as one bullet among twenty. Pinpoint works at the range you choose, so the detail survives.
You choose the boundaries
Press [ when it gets good and ] when it stops. Nothing is guessed about what mattered.
It reads back in plain language
A title, a one-line hook and the actual points, each timestamped so you can jump back to the second it was said.
It is still there in six months
Pins are searchable by what they say, not just what they are called. Ask for the idea and the right pin comes back.
Three keys and you are done.
Mark the start
Press [ while the video plays, or use the Pinpoint button in the player controls. An amber marker appears on the progress bar.
Mark the end
Press ] when the part you want is over. The span fills in between the two markers, and you can drag either one to adjust.
Create the pin
Confirm the range and Pinpoint reads that stretch back to you. It lands in your library, ready to search, replay or share.
Built for the thing you will actually do with it.
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Range pins | Mark any stretch of a video and keep it as a titled, summarised pin with timestamped points. |
| Replay | Open a pin and jump straight back to that second in the source video, in the tab you already have open. |
| Keyword search | Instant, offline, and across every pin — title, summary, tags and channel. Available on every plan. |
| Meaning search | Describe the idea in your own words and get the pin back, even when none of your words appear in it. |
| Illustrated cards | A flat, on-brand card for a pin. Download it as a PNG or attach it to a share link. |
| Boards | Group related pins and publish the set as one page — a reading list that stays useful. |
| Share links | A public page per pin, with the card as its preview. Per pin, opt in, and revocable at any time. |
| Exports | Markdown on every plan. Obsidian, Notion, Anki and CSV on paid plans. Your pins leave whenever you want them to. |
| Your own key | Bring a Gemini API key and run Pinpoint entirely on this device, with no credits and nothing stored on our servers. |
Start free. Pay when it has earned it.
A pin from captions costs one credit. A deeper read of the video costs ten, and an illustrated card twenty. Unused credits on paid plans roll over one month.

The things people ask first.
Does it download or re-upload the video?
No. Pinpoint never downloads, buffers or proxies video or audio. It reads the captions for the range you marked, or passes the video's own address to the model. Nothing is copied.
What happens to pins I made before signing up?
They move with you. Signing up keeps the same identity, uploads the pins you already have, and only clears the local copy once that has succeeded.
Can I use my own Gemini key instead of paying?
Yes. Your key is stored encrypted on your own device and calls go straight from your browser to Google. There are no credits and nothing of yours reaches our servers — which also means no sync, cards or share links.
What if a summary is wrong or the stretch was an ad break?
A range with nothing to summarise is refunded in full and says so. So is any generation that fails. You can see every credit movement in your account.
Which videos does it work on?
YouTube watch pages today. Live streams cannot be pinned while the timeline is still moving. Other platforms will ask permission before Pinpoint touches them.
